Two weeks ago I photographed Amal & Mohamed’s Pakistani Mehendi ceremony in Sacramento. I was super stoked about the event! I can associate quite a bit of my own wedding events with their 3-day nikkah-mehendi-reception saga (more on the couple and the reception coming soon). Any Desi (Pakistani/Indian/Indian sub-continent) wedding is full of colors, music, beautiful decores, great food (of course), lots of families and lots of LOVE. This event was no different and that’s why I loved it sooo much. Amal & Mohamed looked gorgeous in their traditional outfit. There were choreographed dances performed by close friends and families; girls were wearing henna on their hands; bride’s aunts performed traditional wedding songs and played Dholki (a small, drum like instrument). The night ended with more dances by bride and her friends and families.
