Greetings and welcome to my hand-spun blog+site. My photography journey has been incredible! It began with fun, then grew into passion, then I discovered profound love for it and there was no looking back. Please look around, the pictures here are the reflections of how I see the world. Enjoy exploring it.

Okay, so I’m back from Vegas after attenting WPPI(Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) for the first time. I wonder why I waited that long to go to this convention! It was an incredible experience. I finally had a chance to hear from a few of the photographers I admire, I even took a picture with one of them ;) I’m loaded with information now and ready to get on action in full speed. I have to admit that I’m quite exhausted from all that travelling. I was just getting over from a cold and jetlag from my previous trip. Vegas trip added more to my exhaustion. But, like I said, I’m re-energized and re-inspired before my wedding season starts in 2 days. I couldn’t have attended WPPI at a better time.

I will write more about my first WPPI experience in future posts. Right now I want to relax and leave you with an image of a beautiful sunrise over the river Nile. This was taken from our cruise boat, right before our visit to Edfu Temple.

Rainbows and pretty flowers

Friday was another rainy day here in Sac, it was windy too. Did I ever mention that two of my umbrellas are now partially dead? Thanks to the wind ghust! Usually I enjoy driving, but driving back from work to home is not much fun for me. I don’t like heavy and even slower traffic during rain and rush hour. But last Friday was a bit different; my drive down Folsom Blvd was rather exciting! Sun was shining on the falling rain and huuuuuuuuuge rainbows were right in front of me! Not one, not two, but three of them! I wanted to stop the car and take a photo, but stopping wasn’t an option. I was glad to have an iPhone again, I was able to capture a glimpse of the rainbows.

Sometimes I wonder how much do we really need in life to be happy! A day of rain, a bit of sunshine and a rainbow could be a good enough reason to smile that day and may be the newly bloomed spring flower the next day! These are the things that I believe bring excitment to our everyday life and remind us to be thankful for all that we have. No matter how simple they are, they make us happy, instantly!

Back and refreshed

Woohoo…I’m back from my trip from the mighty land where ancient civilizations were born. It was a trip of a life time! Simply spectacular! I’m so happy that we were able to do this at this time in life. However, I was ready come back after 8 days of heat and non-stop travel. Now I’m jet-lagged and a bit sick. I still feel I’m in the desert, dehydrated and sleep deprived. I’ll be back to my regular schedule once I catch up on some sleep. I have a loooooot to share, not to mention, many pictures of amazing sights of Cairo, Aswan, Luxor and Abu Simbel. For now, here is one for your eye candy … the panoramic view of the Pyramids in Giza.

Downhill or what?

Not sure if 30 brought me closer to feeling like “I don’t wanna do anything but fall asleep on the couch!” I haven’t watched the last episode of Grey’s Anatomy yet, it was taped but not watched. This has never happened before! I also don’t feel like going through the episodes of American Idol. If you are not new to this blog, you already know that I claimed to be the biggest fan of those shows. I’m not sure what’s not in place anymore. It could be the (not so new) job or the age! Whatever it is, I’m going to have to get over this state. I’m not ready to believe that 30 is the beginning of the downhill trend!

The rain has stopped for a day. I should be outside training for my 5K, obviously I’m not doing that. Countdown to my dream-trip has begun! 15 more days till we fly out for Cairo…yippy…The current route is via Europe. If we had planned better we could make a stop at Italy also. But I’m sure we’ll have plenty to see in Egypt. Every year my hubby and his friends get together and make a trip somewhere. This year all the friends decided to join us to our Egypt trip. Now I’m only dreaming of camel ride and dinner in the the midst of Sahara with the homies!

Soon this picture will be replaced by my own capture @ Cairo!

Welcome 2010!

Hello new year! I know I’m a bit late in making a new year post, but I’ve been meaning to do it everyday! Especially after watching Julie and Julia, I realized that I’ve been severely neglecting my blog. The fact is, too many things have taken over all of my time since the beginning of the year. The new year started with a kick. We had a New Year eve party at our home for the first time ever; we welcomed 2010 with a few of our good friends in town. The night was full of fun and a lot of good food made by all of us. It was a happy beginning of the new year.

I also turned big three-O on the second day of the year! I cannot believe that I left my twenties behind!!! To help me get over the fear of age, my wonderful hubby surprised me with my favorite fruit basket cake, Bon Jovi concert ticket and something I have been waiting for so long, John Mayer’s “The Battle Studies” tour tickets (if you are still unsure, I’m a big music lover)! I spent a few years of my early teens listening to Bon Jovi’s tape and rocking it in the car with my childhood buddy on our way home from school. Those were the days when I used to sing along with John Bon Jovi. But John Mayer has taken over that spot since I discovered his music during my college days. Now I sing along with this other John

I’m super excited and looking forward to a musical start to my next thirty I’m also super stoked about our trip to Egypt in February. This is something I have been dreaming about since I was a little kid. I’m glad my hubby shares the same passion for travel and is equally interested in seeing the wonders of the world. I’m ecstatic and now counting days until we fly out for Egypt.

I never make new year resolutions, nor do I ever publish such things. But this year is an exception. Last year I looked back into my past and basically evaluated my life. The good and bad in the past thirty years that I did were already done. This year I wanted to have a few resolutions that I believe will energize me and channel me to a positive direction. Not only that, I’m also publishing this to make sure I work towards keeping those resolutions. Hopefully, I’ll be able to check out most of this list at the end of this year. So, here goes my resolutions for 2010 –

1. Run a 5K. In fact, I’m going to run the Race for Cure in May. Hopefully, this will give me a reason to train atleast 3 times a week. I started training on the first day of the year. To tell you the truth, it’s been extremely hard for me. I have lost all my stamina

but I hope to keep going.

2. Travel more. I love to travel, I want to travel the world. But for now, I want to use the free weekends to get away with my hubby and if I can, even better if I can squeeze in a couple international destinations in between (hint to my hubby, if you are reading

3. Cook better. Food is one of my weaknesses! Eating out all the time hasn’t been the best for us, but the busy schedule hardly allowed more cooking time last year. I want take time this year to learn to cook different cuisines so that I’m not bored of eating my own cooking (which is often the case)!

That’s it! I think these are reasonable and very achievable. Now I just have to work towards keeping up my resolutions. Wish me luck! I have been taking a break from photos lately, I will return with some beautiful from my recent trip soon.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead…
