A Warm Welcome!

Greetings and welcome to my hand-spun blog+site. My photography journey has been incredible! It began with fun, then grew into passion, then I discovered profound love for it and there was no looking back. Five years later, I have this custom site to showcase what I love doing so much, the art of capturing life just the way I see it. Please look around, this site is a reflection of me. Enjoy exploring it.

A journey to celebrate

It’s been six years. I remember the moment when I crossed over a half-broken bridge to meet you at the center of the swamp. I’m pretty sure those Allegators were laughing at my fear of drowning in the water. I took a deep breathe, I looked at you & walked towards you. You were dressed like a southern man or so you said! It would be a lie if I say I didn’t guess what might be happenning in the next few minutes. And it happened indeed! You were down on your knees.

You are the one I never knew I could have. But we are here today. We have a loooong road ahead that we will travel together. Our journey reminds me of that bridge I crossed over six years ago. I still remember the smile on your face from that day and that smile becomes my strength to overcome any fear.

Happy Anniversary, husband! I would never hesitate to cross any of those bridges to be with you…

Video, etc

I have fallen behind blogging and everything else, again. A year and a half ago I blogged about how crazy my commute to work was. Well, it’s still the same. On top of it, I have managed to gather more for me which leads me to spending more time at work everyday. More so, I have been extremely occupied by the work in revamping my blog/website. It’s going to be a combined site soon. I am having FLOSITES create a custom blogsite for me along with a new branding. Yes, I’m getting a new logo, a new site that will be a better representation of “Me”.

I have attended a photo workshop recently. I came out of it inspired, energized, excited and challenged about adding video to my work. I shoot with Canon 5D MK II that has HD video feature. I ended up shooting and editing a video of my friends 3-month old. I thought I would share the very first video work ever done my me. Watch it, but keep in mind that I’m a newbie here. I may be a pro-photographer, but still an amateure at video.

Enjoy.

To my valentine

Dear You,

I know I told you that my trip to Safeway was not about picking out a v-day card for you, but the fact is, I did stop and look at the cards that were out on the shelves. There wasn’t a single one that could tell the story of the two of us (plus they were all so over-priced!). So I decided to write you a blog post instead! You know, I’m not the kind who looks forward to chocolates on this day. I’m sure you remember the box of chocolate that sat on the counter top for about three years and then you decided not to buy me chocolates ever again (great idea by the way!). I love the flowers you bring me on this day (and every now and then), and I must admit that I love going to movies to watch one of those silly romantic comedies. It’s like a tradition we have, like many others!

Truth be told, I don’t need flowers or gifts to remind me of what we have between us. You have been a gift to me, You made me a better person. I’m thankful that you are there in every step of my life and I wouldn’t share my experiences with anyone else but You. Here’s to the next fifty valentine’s day that we will be spending together …

Yours truly,
Me

Many THANKS to Doug Miranda for capturing these images for us. We will cherish them forever!

post-vacation fever, a wedding and a birthday

Now that I’m back from vacation, I had very little time to catch up to the reality. I fell somewhat sick for a couple days but I’m back in position to shoot and rock my 3-day-wedding-weekend. Can’t wait! But, before I go, I have to pay a tribute to the legendary John Lennon. It’s his birthday today. I listened to John Lennon special in NPR this morning and got totally emotional.

Happy Birthday, John.

Enjoy a song I really, really like. I think “Kurt” from “Glee” did an excellent job in his rendition of “I wanna hold your hand”. Loved it!
