Greetings and welcome to my hand-spun blog+site. My photography journey has been incredible! It began with fun, then grew into passion, then I discovered profound love for it and there was no looking back. Please look around, the pictures here are the reflections of how I see the world. Enjoy exploring it.

Pakistani Mehendi Ceremony, Sacramento Pakistani wedding photography

Two weeks ago I photographed Amal & Mohamed’s Pakistani Mehendi ceremony in Sacramento. I was super stoked about the event! I can associate quite a bit of my own wedding events with their 3-day nikkah-mehendi-reception saga (more on the couple and the reception coming soon). Any Desi (Pakistani/Indian/Indian sub-continent) wedding is full of colors, music, beautiful decores, great food (of course), lots of families and lots of LOVE. This event was no different and that’s why I loved it sooo much. Amal & Mohamed looked gorgeous in their traditional outfit. There were choreographed dances performed by close friends and families; girls were wearing henna on their hands; bride’s aunts performed traditional wedding songs and played Dholki (a small, drum like instrument). The night ended with more dances by bride and her friends and families.

I will blog about the couple and the reception gala soon. Until then, check out the details from Amal & Mohamed’s Mehendi ceremony.

Sacramento Pakistani Wedding: Amal & Mohamed

I had the pleasure of photographing Amal & Mohamed Nikkah (Islamic Wedding) ceremony at Amal’s parents’ house yesterday. This was the kick-off event of their 3-day wedding weekend. I couldn’t wait to share a few highlights from their first day of the wedding-weekend. Here are some of my favorites.

This is also the first time I had a chance to collaborate with my friend Sumaira (www.looksbysumaira.net) who is an up an coming make up artist in the greater Sacramento area. Her expertie is in Indian, South Asian, Arab bridal makeover. Her work is simply gorgeous. Look her up if you are looking for a make-up artist for your wedding or simply needing a make-over.

post-vacation fever, a wedding and a birthday

Now that I’m back from vacation, I had very little time to catch up to the reality. I fell somewhat sick for a couple days but I’m back in position to shoot and rock my 3-day-wedding-weekend. Can’t wait! But, before I go, I have to pay a tribute to the legendary John Lennon. It’s his birthday today. I listened to John Lennon special in NPR this morning and got totally emotional.

Happy Birthday, John.

Enjoy a song I really, really like. I think “Kurt” from “Glee” did an excellent job in his rendition of “I wanna hold your hand”. Loved it!
